Sometimes we eat in and sometimes we take our food home, but this is definitely a restaurant I feel comfortable in. It is fairly small and unassuming but the service is good, they use quality ingredients, and there are multiple seating options. So far, of all the sushi places I\u2019ve tried on the west side, this one is my favourite and they also serve Thai food, which makes a nice compromise when selecting a place to eat as my husband dislikes all seafood. He quite enjoys a stir fry from Kaiso, though, with his favourite being the Firecracker Chicken (it\u2019s loaded with spicy chili peppers).<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-556 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/goalicego.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/kaiso1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"841\" height=\"631\" srcset=\"https:\/\/goalicego.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/kaiso1.jpg 841w, https:\/\/goalicego.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/kaiso1-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/goalicego.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/kaiso1-768x576.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 767px) 89vw, (max-width: 1000px) 54vw, (max-width: 1071px) 543px, 580px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Some things of note:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>There is ample parking nearby as Kaiso is located in a large strip mall complex.<\/li>\n<li>There are no stairs to deal with at Kaiso.<\/li>\n<li>The washroom is one large wheelchair accessible room.<\/li>\n<li>There are different kinds of seating including booths and the rest of the tables have chairs on one side and bench seats on the other, and the tables and chairs can be easily moved around as needed.<\/li>\n<li>I usually opt for the bench seat side of a table but I\u2019ve sat on the chairs a few times and they are definitely sturdy and they don\u2019t have arms.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A few of my go-to items at Kaiso are the tuna tataki (flash seared to perfection and their ponzu sauce is so tasty), the veggie sunomono (to me,\u00a0 it\u2019s the perfect balance of\u00a0 sweet and sharp vinegar), and the salmon nigiri (it melts in your mouth), but I often try different items or share with others who have their own favourites. In this picture there are a few pieces of Sunset Roll (salmon, avocado, and tempura flakes), 1 tobiko nigiri, 2 toro nigiri, 2 slices of deep fried California roll, veggie sunomono, and the usual sides of pickled ginger, wasabi, and soy sauce. I ordered this to go and plated it at home, and I was sharing it with someone else which is why there are only 2 or 3 slices of the different rolls.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-557 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/goalicego.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/Kaiso2.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"841\" height=\"631\" srcset=\"https:\/\/goalicego.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/Kaiso2.jpeg 841w, https:\/\/goalicego.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/Kaiso2-300x225.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/goalicego.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/Kaiso2-768x576.jpeg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 767px) 89vw, (max-width: 1000px) 54vw, (max-width: 1071px) 543px, 580px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>If seafod isn&#8217;t your thing but you still enjoy sushi they have a variety of rolls including vegetarian options and some fun creations like their fried chicken roll!<\/p>\n<p>With Kaiso being a go-to spot for us, I might post about it again with some of the Thai items we enjoy there such as their stir fry and curry options, their spring rolls, and their chicken satay.
