The inside is decorated in the style of a diner from decades gone by and we enjoyed some ice cream there.<\/p>\n<p>Some things of note:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>There is plenty of parking near the entrance.<\/li>\n<li>There are no steps in the entrance or inside.<\/li>\n<li>The bathroom is a single unisex room.<\/li>\n<li>There are a variety of seating options. The booths are very small and there are stools bolted in place at a counter. The majority of the seating, though, is metal chairs and tables that can be moved and the seats are sturdy and have no arms.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-420 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/goalicego.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/Dans1.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1028\" height=\"631\" srcset=\"https:\/\/goalicego.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/Dans1.jpeg 1028w, https:\/\/goalicego.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/Dans1-300x184.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/goalicego.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/Dans1-768x471.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/goalicego.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/Dans1-1024x629.jpeg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 767px) 89vw, (max-width: 1000px) 54vw, (max-width: 1071px) 543px, 580px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-421 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/goalicego.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/Dans2.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"533\" height=\"631\" srcset=\"https:\/\/goalicego.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/Dans2.jpeg 533w, https:\/\/goalicego.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/Dans2-253x300.jpeg 253w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 533px) 100vw, 533px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Dan&#8217;s sells lunch items such as subs and salads but we were there for the ice cream. I don&#8217;t know why but soft serve ice cream in British Columbia, in my experience, is predominantly ice <em>milk<\/em>. In contrast, we had soft serve ice cream in three different places in Nova Scotia and all of them were most certainly using ice <em>cream<\/em>. The difference in taste and texture is HUGE. It takes me back to my days as a teenager when I worked in a Tastee Freez (they used ice cream, not milk, but they are no longer around in British Columbia). I had the strawberry butterscotch sundae. It might sound like an odd combination but mixing the two flavours is another habit leftover from my Tastee Freez days. My dining partner had a brownie parfait with hot fudge and peanuts.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-422 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/goalicego.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/Dans3.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"597\" height=\"631\" srcset=\"https:\/\/goalicego.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/Dans3.jpeg 597w, https:\/\/goalicego.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/05\/Dans3-284x300.jpeg 284w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 597px) 100vw, 597px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We didn&#8217;t try any, but Dan&#8217;s also sells take-home bakery items like cookies, squares, and mini cakes.
